1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, password (stored securely), and role (parent or student)
• Student profile data: grade level, course progress, quiz/grade results, attendance records, and certificates earned
• Payment information: processed directly by Stripe, our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers on our servers
• Content you upload: attachments, answer keys, pen pal messages, and support requests
• Usage data: pages visited and features used, to help us improve the Service

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and operate the Service (lessons, grading, attendance, certificates)
• Process subscription and store payments through Stripe
• Enable parent-moderated Pen Pal matching and messaging between students on this platform
• Respond to support requests
• Maintain platform security and prevent abuse

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

This Service is intended for use by teenage students (grades 9–12) under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who creates and manages the paying account. Student sub-accounts and profile data are managed by the parent/guardian. Parents may review, edit, or request deletion of their student's data at any time through the Admin Panel or by contacting support.

4. Pen Pal Safety

The Pen Pals feature only connects students who are enrolled on this same Academy platform — it is not a public or cross-platform social network. All messages are held for parent/admin review before being delivered to the recipient. Students are instructed not to share last names, addresses, or phone numbers.

5. Data Storage & Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored data. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our own servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell student or family data. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate the platform (such as Stripe for payment processing), or when required by law.

7. Your Rights

Parents/guardians may access, correct, export, or delete their family's data at any time via the Admin Panel's backup/export tools, or by submitting a request through the Support page.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
